Editorial Assesment
If you have a partial manuscript and you don't know how to expand on it, you could benefit from an editorial assessment. An editorial assessment acts as a bird's-eye view of your work. It tells you what's working and what's not working. This includes plot holes, character development, pacing, and tone. You'll receive an 8-10 page letter from me with feedback and suggestions on how to move forward.
Developmental Editing
This is useful if you have a completed manuscript that needs a surgical review. A developmental edit is is a line by line evaluation of your work with notes added to the margins. I'll analyze your story scene by scene, offering in-depth feedback on plot, characterization, language, and story arc. You will receive an annotated copy of your manuscript plus a summary letter.
Copyediting
Nobody is immune to a spelling mistake. When you've edited your manuscript, research paper, or website 101 times and your eyes have glazed over, I can do a final review and catch any pesky errors.
Fact Checking
For both fiction and non-fiction, it can help to have a second person review statistics, facts, and claims.
